The Portugal Pavilion presents Pauliteiros de Miranda. A
unique dance performance that has been keeping alive, for
several centuries, the oldest traditions of the Miranda do
Douro region and the cultural identity of its people.
Let yourself be captivated by the power and rhythm of the
ancient Pauliteiros’ instruments, in a swords dance that
takes us back to time immemorial of the North of Portugal.
The Pauliteiros de Miranda will perform twice at Portugal Pavilion on October 24th. These will be two unique opportunities to watch his religious and warrior-inspired musical repertoire, whose poems exalt their history and people.

WHAT MAKES THE NORTH OF PORTUGAL SO UNIQUE? MIRANDA DO DOURO.
To learn about the origins of Miranda do Douro, you have to go
back in time to 1286, the year in which the town of Miranda was
founded. Since then, the town has never stopped developing,
standing out in the production of textiles, footwear and
goldsmithery, and always keeping its identity and traditions
intact.
Today, Miranda do Douro is a true open-air museum, proudly
holding a vast cultural heritage that makes it a must-visit in
the North of Portugal.
